Rice Kheer (Rice Pudding)

Everyone get smile on face when you hear “kheer” … am I right ?????

Kheer is an integral part of every Indian home . Be it any festival or an important life event or even as sacred as offering prasad in the temple and during fasting/ upvaas , kheer is one Indian dessert that fits into any special occasion menu

A spoonful of this kheer immediately transports you back to your childhood, when your mother used to make this dessert to celebrate everyday joys. Simple, delicious and packed with wonderful memories, make this today to remember those good times.
Kheer food is considered very auspicious and very tasty,
the kids like to eat and eat all the kheer. Come, let us begin cooking rice pudding.

1/2  cup  Basmati rice

1kg Milk  (full cream)

1 tsp  Ghee (optional)

1/2 cup Sugar

4-5 Cardomom (powdered)

4-5 Badam & cashew nuts (sliced thin pieces)

1 pinch organic orange color (optional)


1) We can make kheer in two ways
We can cook rice by roasting it in ghee or soaking it in water.
The Kheer taste delicious from both ways

2) Put the milk in boiling and keep boiling.

3) In the first way you wash the rice.
Heat the ghee in the pan and fry for 5-7 minutes on low flame.

4) In the second way, instead of roasting,
wash the rice and soak it in water for half an hour

5) After the milk is boiled, add rice or roasted rice,
stir the milk with a spoon and keep the gas slowly after the kheer is boiled,
the milk made on a slow gas is very tasty,
Keep running in 3 minutes (Kheer starts burning very quickly in the bottom).

6) When the rice becomes soft,add color or kesar and nuts..

7) Kheer takes about 1 hour to build. Now you will see rice
has become thicker.
Put sugar in kheer and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Kheer is made,
turn off the gas and mix cardamom.

8) Take out the kheer in the cup. Hot Hot Serve and Eat
Keep the kheer in the fridge
and eat cold also cold Kheer also looks delicious..

I don’t usually get impressed, but when I do,I can’t stop thinking about it.
Similar something happened to me here.

V Lounge blends Arabian and Asian influences to create a casual dining experience with a higher level of creativity. Its located in a prime location. It is easily accessible from all parts of the city due to its proximity to Egmore/Nungambakkam/Anna Salai.


At this point in the food industry, food is not the only focus factor. The service and the ambience plays a major role in deciding the future for a restaurant. Recently I visited V Lounge restaurant were they serve a variety of dishes, but their cocktails are the stars I’d say!

Its really a great place to just chill and relax with friends, the ambience was great. It was a very fun evening.. Their staffs were very friendly. I love the space here. Very nice seatings and the décor is fantastic and mighty comfy! However, it’s clearly a fire hazard since you have to squeeze around with the amount of space and hookahs around. Each and every food item I tasted was really delicious ans mouth watering… The portions are quite generous and the prices are really affordable and enough fair.

The main lounge has several Tvs, and a hookah bar which hookah man makes your hookah in front of you. He also recommends which flavoUr is their best sellers. Most places do not offer these type of suggestions, so I believe it was easier for me to get a new flavour …

Coming to the food V-Lounge started with Triple cheese grill, Mexican grill sandwich & veg Kesariya. served the variety of Italian, Chinese, Mexican and Arabian in pure vegeterian.. Yes you heard it right !!!

Grilled Triple Cheese grill – A triple layer of cheese is toasted with bread which gives a soft delicious taste.

Mexican grill sandwich : It tastes like garlic bread stuffed with paneer gave a delicious taste.

Veg Kesariya: It looks similar like Mexican grill sandwich but stuffed with paneer and broccoli delicious with hot and sweet sauces.

The main course served its Mongolian Rice and Basil Rice… Mongolian rice was really tasty a amazing combination of with rice, vegetables and noodles.. Each and everyone must try it out here!! Basil rice is tasted like fried rice giving a mild flavour of basil leaves loved it really!!

Dragon Baby Corn, Chilli Mushroom and Chilli Paneer were really masaledaar.. loved it to the core..

Spagehtti, White Pasta and Green (herbal) Pasta were the high lights for todays generation and its real lip smacking one ..


Chilli cheese grill :Its really a more dynamic and flavourful giving a strong chilli and cheese taste!!

These signature hookahs are one for the smoker who loves a super sweet, almost candy-like taste when they smoke. Its from natural fruits like apple and watermelon ..loved the smell and flavours very much!!


The cocktails and the mock-tails impressed me a lot . They serve all varieties of mocktails the way customer need …….. U must try all these Mojitos and mocktails for sure … Current cooler, Strawberry mojito ,Kiwi mojito, Very Berry and Pink lemonade been served to us.


Desserts were fantastic mainly i loved the fried ice cream….It was hard batter topping outside and the oozing of ice cream which is stuffed inside giving you rich , delicious , unique taste … Its heavenly, don’t miss that!!

Kachri ki sabzi (Rajasthani style)

This Kachri ki sabzi recipe is authentic Rajasthani recipe.  Its very easy and simple recipe we can make in 10-15 minutes and a quick recipe idea for lunch or dinner.  Its the Best Indian kachri sabzi recipes in Rajasthani style with little more garlic , oil and chilli . This sabzi is my favorite as it can made and stored  in fridge and can have with roti for many days. So lets check how to make kachri sabzi now……



Ingredients :

8-10 Kachri (halved lengthwise)

1tsp mustard oil

1 tsp garlic paste

A big pinch of hing

1/4-1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp haldi

1/2 tsp red chili powder

1 tsp dhania powder

1/4 tsp Cumin seeds


1. Take all dry ingrdients  red chili powder , haldi , dhania powder,little oil , salt and mix well stuffing masala for kachri is ready. keep it aside.
2. Wash and trim both ends of kachri. Slit them lengthwise. Do not cut into two long halves. Take each kachri and stuff it with approx. 1/2 – 1 tsp prepared masala stuffing.    3. Take the oil in a pan and when it is hot add the hing and Cumin seeds ..then add garlic and mix well.
4. Now add the stuffed kachri and stir gently till the skin is a little golden.  Add little water and cook for 5-10 minutes in a medium flame ..cover it with lid.
5. Serve hot with roti or chapati.

Preethi Turbo Chop -My best Kitchen friend !!

Preethi turbo chop is a powerful machine with simple operation.   It has very powerful motor. within seconds it chops everything. It has been  designed with stainless steel blade, it makes chopping extremely fast. The operation also very easy. You need a simple press on the top when you want to chop. If you remove the hand it will stop. You can get a perfect chopping in this Preethi turbo chop .Cleaning was quiet easy compared to other kitchen appliances with no pieces and bits hidden in unreachable crevices but you gotta be extra careful with the sharp blades This turbo chop takes lesser space in the kitchen compared to mixer grinder.

..Diwali is a time of celebration, fun and food! Every year i try lot of new dishes in the evening of diwali after pooja .. So i tried to make paav baaji  using preethi turbo chop… … I use to avoid making paav baaji as its a long procedure but after using prethi turbo chop it has become very easy to make chopping, pureeing, chutney grinding , nuts grinding and much more we can do in a fraction of seconds.


Potatoes 4 medium
Tomatoes 4 medium
Onions 2 medium
Garlic 8-10 cloves
Carrot 2
Beetroot 1
Beans 1 cup
Green capsicum 1 medium
Fresh coriander leaves 1/4 cup
Green peas shelled 1/4 cup
Lemons 2
Oil 3 tablespoons
Asafoetida 1/4 tsp
Red chiilli powder 1 tsp
Tumeric powder 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Pav bhaji masala 1 1/2 tablespoons
Butter 3 tablespoons
Pav 8


1) Wash, peel and roughly chop fine all the vegetables(carrot,beans,beetroot,capsicum) & potato (as we have to cut in 2 pieces)… Add the vegetables to a pressure cooker with a glass of water and salt to taste. Cook for  up to 3 whistles.

2) When the pressure is gone, let it cool before grinding to a puree. and  take the potatoes peel it and  put in preethi turbo chop  it like this and keep aside….


3) Take onion cut into big pieces and put in preethi turbo chop  and chop it



then garlic

and then  tomato seeperately ..keep it ready



4)In a kadhai  just melt butter add as asafoetida ,garlic & fry. Now  add onions and saute till dark brown. Add tomatoes &some peas and cook till the oil separates

5)Add the turmeric powder, chilli powder, pav bhaji masala, salt and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.

6)Take the bolied vegetables  vegetables smash in preethi turbo chop &add to the kadai and add some water and allow to  cook for 5 to 10 mins…



7)I get fresh pav readymade from outside… Slice each pav into 2 horizontally.

8)Apply a little butter to each side

9)Heat a large tava and cook the pav on both sides till the pieces are lightly browned

10)Now garnish the bhaji with coriander leaves, remaining butter and serve hot with pav & chopped onion and lemon..
