The menu was carefully curated by Chef Aaron Coutinho who explained us how they serve food with shudh desi touch. He took lot of time to explain each and every dish to us. He is not just creative but the seasonal and plan is focused on the chutneys, dip and slides. The taste of all dishes remains pretty unique.

The ambiance is cool and colorful. The interiors also offer some nostalgia. There is an old hand-wound gramophone, the front portion of a Tata truck, amazing wall paintings, old Tiffin box, vintage tables and steel chairs.
Get ready for an explosive dose of flavours. We start off with
Litchi Jamun juice which tasted divine.

Lemon Barley Shinkanji is made with boiled barley and lemon zest which is so refreshing.
Paneer Burji Khakra was really amazing with the combination of onion, tomato and paneer.

Sweetcorn and drumstick soup
I totally loved the fresh sweetcorn combined with the goodness of drumsticks and drumstick leaves.

Dosa Waffle with Multi Swag Paneer was the best combination I ever had.
Dosa batter in Waffle maker is a simple and interesting idea .. All credits goes to the chef.

Also enjoyed naan with Balti Paneer which is a Pakistani dish.

Multi millet khichadi with kadi was really awesome with desi touch.

Butta Kebab is the treat to mouth with the combination of soft corn with cucumber sauce.

Healthy Veg Cutlet Chops made with beetroot.

Vada Bao is the version of the classic Bombay vada Pao made with steamed homemade bun.
Vada baav steamed is served with Maharashtrian garlic chutney.

I totally enjoyed it.Green apple jelabi ,Gulab Jamun and Cheesecake was the desserts served to us which is divine, tastier than ever.

Last but not least Sulaimaan Tea is the best tea with the real essence.

Do give a try with your friends and family to enjoy the shudh desi touch.
How I can forget to take a selfie with the chief and my friends….

Paint Party at Klay Centre

I have always wanted a tribe of friends during my mothering years. But those early motherhood days couldn’t find any but recently joined

Chennai Mom Tribe which is run by

Arul Mozhi , Dimple Surana

and Shruti Ravindran

to explore new things and make new friends. I missed their first meet by chance so was very eager not to meet any meet in the future. Their second at fab cafe made me learn yoga, doubts from a gynecologist and some beauty tips.

I love painting and was so much excited about the third event Paint party and it was fabulous. We had lot of fun with colors and really had an amazing painting session with lovely Artish Pragati Gunashekar who bought out the artist in all of us and Klay Play School at anna nagar was our venue. She taught us how to use the brush, mix colors, do strokes and paint..

The session went for three hours and ended up with a amazing painting. Not only me but each and everyone did justice and the painting came out very well.. Here is my painting with acrylic colors.

I was amazed to see how every little thoughts and details went into making this meet a success. It was a full house, and no, am not joking! Made possible thanks to chennai mom tribe and to #KlayPrepSchoolAndDayCare
who took good care and kept little ones engrossed while the ladies enjoyed the painting session.

The Board room cafe – Unique games and yummy Vegetarian food 😍

Board room cafe has become the new hangout spot of the season The cafe is a dedicated space for board game enthusiasts. The boardroom is widely used by Top Corporate for their board meetings and training Programmes and also organizes events like stand-up comedy, music performances, etc.

Its a Board Game Cafe with over 250 games, that serves teas, pasta, paninis, and snacks. The food is yummy, the tea is one of (if not the) the best in the region, the ambiance homely and welcoming. This cafe is run by three founders Sriram, Varun and Shravan.

The Boardroom Cafe is genuinely a nice place where you’ll feel welcome and receive good service and quality. Also, the owners may be three of the most wonderful people you’ll ever meet. They help you out to explain the games patiently with a big smile in their faces. I wish them all the best, and a flourishing success to them.

When i got a invite to visit Board room I was totally excited as never visited a place full of games and food combination. Nowadays everyone busy with their own life busy schedule. Its the best place to spend amazing time together with family and friends to make memories. The place is nicely decorated and based on a unique concept and the place is quite attracting.

Ambiance is amazing:

All I can say is if you want to hang out with your friends, have a good laugh, chill and play games, this place is right for you! They have many board games that we customers can choose, and it isn’t just the normal board games we all know. The whole interior design of the cafe is great with wooden table and chairs instead of the cushion as well as we can sit for long and relax. I mean, the place is big enough for a huge number of friends, the only thing that bothers me is the chats off each crowd just mixes to one another causing huge noise pollution. But if you want to play and enjoy downstairs also in the cafe.

Once you start playing board games here I assure you that you and your gang will play and stay there until the whole cafe closes. They are plenty of quality board games for all ages and tastes, Its really enjoyable time with friends or family. Amazing and Commendable service and the people are helpful with the games and rules. Cost is affordable as well. Food: I am so happy as they have all vegetarian food. They have different varieties of teas, pasta, paninis, and sandwiches.

I tried Rajma rice, Marinara pasta, Spicy red garlic bruschetta ……The presentation of food is great and tasted amazing.

I liked the delicious taste of red pasta with the cream cheese..

Rajma rice could have been more spicy and less cook.

I also loved the ginger lemon tea which Improves Immune System. Check out their menu

Board games:

We played a game called patchwork, which involved earning coins, buying building blocks and filling up our board with the blocks, while progressing step by step on a spiral track.
When a player takes an action that moves his time token to the central square of the time track, he takes one final button income from the bank. Once both players are in the center, the game ends and scoring takes place. Each player scores one point per button in his possession, then loses two points for each empty square on his game board. Scores can be negative. The player with the most points wins.

Next, we played a card game, trying to have a full set of one type of cards while exchanging unwanted cards by auction like one to one, two to two, with other players. Had amazing fun playing with Srinidhi, Karthik Pasupathi, and others.

Finally, we played a game called “High Society” wherein the objective is to spend our money to buy various luxuries of life, avoid negative card, bid and buy deck has a dark green background – the three prestige cards, and the Scandal card. Players are socialites trying to live as lavishly and frivolously as possible, outbidding each other to prove they are living life to the fullest. At the end of the game, the poorest player (or players) will be cast out of the group. The remaining player who has managed to become the most fashionable, by collecting the highest value status cards, will earn the envy of all and win the game. As soon as the fourth one is revealed, the game ends immediately, with no bidding for the revealed card.

Check the collection of board games There were also traditional games available here !!!

Overall

At last, What I loved about this place is their neatly done creative interior……..
Location is simply banging on as it is opposite to luz corner which easily gathers college crowd.
The menu is pricey as compared to the spending capacity of a teenager

I rate 4/5 overall. I request to add some more dishes.

Overall good for teenagers as well as families as they have lots of board games to play around…

There are soooo many NEW and super COOL things at the cafe!!! A lot of International board games!! Hurry up friends check them out!!

Board Room Snacks and Games Cafe is still HIGHLY recommended because of the great atmosphere they have. The most perfect part of this cafe is the moments you and your friends will create while dining. If they’ll just upgrade the taste of their food and add some more varieties, I am a hundred percent sure that they’ll be one of the best eats in town!

Priyanjoli Basu – Founder Of Priyanjoli

We live in a modern world that offers us an abundance of choice and convenience. It’s easy to shop cheap, fast fashion. And, it’s easy to shop often. But, the choice is also there to shop slow, ethically, and sustainably. Slow Fashion is not your typical seasonal fashion trend, it is a movement that is steadily gaining momentum and is likely here to stay. I am talking about slow fashion as I got inspired by a Chennai based designer, Priyanjoli invited us for an open studio in her boutique.

I was very much excited to attend it as Priyanjoli is a niche clothing label that celebrates both handloom and the modern woman. Priyanjoli collaborates with clusters of weavers and artisans to create exclusive designs and texture. Priyanjoli Basu, Founder & Lead Designer Priyanjoli Basu was born in Kolkata into a family of empowered women who are passionate about heritage textile. and studied fashion and design at the London College of Fashion. The slow fashion label is doing this by bridging the gap between traditional techniques and the constant evolution of modern fabric.Sustainable fashion is often concerned with the environmental impact. Opting for fibers and materials that are organic, recycled, or repurposed, limiting harmful chemicals/dyes, reducing energy/water usage and waste, and overall choosing low-impact options wherever possible.

About the store :

They strongly believe in the ‘beauty of handmade’. Their store is full of attractive handmade things like ceiling, hand-painted cupboard and much more I totally love the ambiance. The best part about the label is the fact that they offer personalized client services. They make every woman experience a completely personalized one. This means that women of all sizes can wear a Priyanjoli creation… Isn’t did great ?? They also offer a reverse pick up and alteration service, in case of any further alterations.

Priyanjoli Basu shares her story
“…that she loves textiles, In the beginning, it was a fast fashion picking up clothes from different stores also working with designer making wedding clothes but she realized there weren’t good everyday clothes made out of textiles that we make in India. So she went to study in London came back to India . So the entire time between London and India she realized, that this is what she loves doing she like textiles and she not only like fashion but she likes the whole process os textile making so she decided to have a brand.
She started with a very clear chain of people working with her because she started realizing what kind of harmful effect clothing, manufacturing was doing to the planet and she was passionate about the cause. So she wanted to create something in clothing which will not affect the future of her child as well the future of the planet. So she started working mostly with people who needed support, who did not have the knowledge to change designs, capacity to evolve from where they wear to global market, so she started creating her own brand where they have handloom textiles, apparels, sarees, tops, skirts, dresses, pants and much more. She started the store with the idea of custom tailoring. to be able to meet women who come and tell what they like and what would look nice on them, she could change her mind by making her try something who really fits her. As she is from Kolkata she started working with weavers from Bengal and created a weavers community in Bengal where she empowered with technology, teaching them how to use WhatsApp and take pictures so that they can send it to me that the production is done would you like to change colors. I started teaching them ways to communicate, not just with me but also with other vendors which are really helping them. So this becomes a very interesting educational program for her to start teaching and communicating… To maintain these fashion projects we had a store named Priyanjoli and now it has been seven years online too. But the idea was, we wanted to be a household synonymously named with the word sustainable and ethical. This was one of the key reasons that we started the brand and the business. Keeping that as a philosophy, we created handwoven textiles that impact the planet giving good products packed without using plastic. However, our main motto is, Source from local weaver and create transparency from textiles to garments.”

As we can see their focus is on woven textiles with simple and contemporary aesthetics – giving way to global design.
You can also select a ready-made design by taking a look at their size chart (from petite up to Size 16). They also offer a reverse pick up and alteration service, in case of any further alterations. Though Priyanjoli does plenty of basics like casual tops, which are perfect to wear to work and some informal jackets, it is their ikat dresses collection that has caught our eye. Though the label is definitely not budget, but if u love environment you can give it a try…

A Must Watch Blockbuster Bharat !!!

Salman Khan’s film on the festive occasion of Eid, is just icing on the cake it can’t get any bigger! The much awaited, Sallu Bhai’s movie is out! Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar
Just watched the first day first show with my family. And am really excited to share my reviews of the amazing movie..

We all know the movie is inspired by South Korean film “Ode To My Father”. Salman Khan plays the role of Bharat, who promised his father Jackie Shroff that he’ll keep the family-friendly united and take care of them forever. The film traverses many decades starting from partition in 1947 to 2010.
BHARAT is an all-in one kind of movie, which takes us through all the rides and strides of life.

The movie has very smooth transitions and mostly does not bore us. The characters play their roles perfectly and are always in sync with each other. The music also does not disappoint us, and makes us groove to its beats.

The movie, teaches us life lessons, as to what it means, when it comes to family and how to keep and prove your promises. The BGM is also done right which helps the movie connect with audience..

This movie also boasts a major strength, that no movie has today, which is LOGIC! The movie is so well written and stitched together that it becomes a visual treat.

Without any doubt, Salman and Katrina stand-out with their strong performances, Sunil Grover also highly impressed me with his orlandish acting skills.

The movie points out to the different phases of life and takes us on a roller-coaster ride of emotions, jokes, promises, joy, action and suspense.

However, a little too much of anything is not a good thing. In this movie I feel that there was too much of drama! The movie was streched a lotttt I guess it should have been shortened..
Which however is over-shadowed by the phenomenal performances by the cast and most of the credits obviously goes again to the director.

On the whole, this movie is definitely a one for the ages and is a sure-shot blockbuster. Even though the trailer didn’t impress us much, but the movie, filled our hearts with visual brilliancy and made it theirs!

You definitely should not miss this one and watch it as soon as possible in your nearest theatres.

This movie is worth a watch in every penny.

Please don’t give it a miss 👍🏻👏🏻👌🏻🙏🏻

My rating 8.5*/10*

Goddy’s Cafe – A Combination Of Food With Music!!

Goddy’s Café is a new resto cafe that has emerged in the ever happening Nungambakam area in a complex of Haddows Road. The outlet is done up nicely and looks sporty and elegant. There are some couches to sit upon, a space for jams and open mic arena. It is believed that it will soon be a music cum food cafe with music being belted out by various bands in the evening hours. We decided to go to the place, which was recommended by my son, on the occasion of mother’s day.The ambience of the café is as good as anything, adding on, the combo of music and food is just as splendid as it sounds! exciting! Another defining feature of this café is the varities and the options that it provides to its customers. It was really a hard time to pick the items from a large mix. It basically provides us with three categories, Starters, Main-course and the desserts. We handpicked the following respectively,For Starters,Jughead says… Garlic bread:The unorthodox garlic bread. The more creative and funnier the name, the tastier it tastes. It has a spongy and a crumbled base, topped off with bell pepper and a generous helping of parmesan. It is one of their signature dishes and is a must-try starter.Thy Fries:This is the mammoth-sized fries, which consists of Mediterranean piri-piri, Piri-Piri, Honeyglaze and Hazelnut fries, with a range of dips. These fries are the best in town and is a stomach-filling starter. Each of the four was so tasty that we were left licking our fingers.Cheesy Bread Pockets:These are cup-shaped baked breads filled with cheese and veggies. These bread pockets are mouth-watering when served and are hard to resist. With loaded cheese, it gives a melting look when cut. These pockets are an ideal starter for everyone. For Main Course,Lasagna Exotica:The love for lasagne never drops. In this veg. compilation of a creamy layer of cheese and exotic vegetables baked to delight your palate.Pesto Besto:In the pastas section, this seemed to impressed the most. It is the perfect combination of spice and can set your tongue rolling and topped with a healthy dose of parmesan. Along with it, comes breads which is a heavenly combination and as well as a top pick. For Desserts,The desserts are something, that I always crave for, the café had so so many varieties of mocktails, juices, mojitos, monster shakes, hot chocolates and waffles. We ordered ourselves the following,Blue Hawaiian:The perfect blend of a summer mock tail, which includes the likes of pineapple juice and blue coracao! This does give a relaxing feeling once it slurps down your throat, giving a magnificent feeling.Flamingo:The red-sweet devil of the town is here. This provides us a striking combination of Strawberry, Pineapple, Watermelon and Orange for a refreshing ride.Master Cleanse:These cleanse juices, are the most, healthy ones with real fruit pulp and it includes the pulps of carrot, beet, orange, apple and lemon to make you feel light as air. It also improves your mood! When nature enters you.So Ran the Berry:The king of monster shakes, this has become my instant favourite, the looks of this monster makes you drool all the way until sipped. This basically is a cranberry and blueberry shake, with the topping of whipped cream and sugar-sprinkles, it also has Cadbury gems embedded on the whipped cream. This one’s a must-try.Blue Lagoon:The all-time favourite combination of soda, sugar syrup and blue coracao pulp just got even better! The blue lagoon cannot be replaced and refreshes our mind to the fullest.Oceans Lassi:This is a freak-combo which will bamboozle you. The combination you never would have thought of, raspberries in a lassi. It is so tasty that you will slurp out the last drop of it, just like a kid,Winter is Here… :The best of its name. the most creative of names! I just ordered because of the name, being a big fan of GoT. This is basically waffle with a twist, shaped in bubbles and is known as “Bubble Waffle” it is filled with white chocolate, with vanilla ice cream at its core and filled with whipped cream and sugar-sprinkles. This is a perfect dessert indeed. This is one of the best and the most innovative cafes in Chennai. They serve Allday breakfast and it’s open from morning till night..Rates are bit higher but it’s worth for the best. This is the one that will go the distance, trust me. It is the best spot for hanging out with friends and you can also play board games, sing a song or listen to some stand-up comedy. And, most importantly, the food, which is the best. A well spent MothersDay with my son..
