Oats Kuzhi Paniyaram

Kuzhi Paniyaram is a famous beakfast dish of Taminadu…. I have tried this time with oats  This delicacy is rich in protein and tastes exceptionally well.. This  dish is instant and simple yet very delicious. Serve this Instant Oats Paniyaram with coconut / Onion chutney and enjoy the taste….

Ingredients

1 cup Quaker oats

2 tsp Rice Flour

1/2 cup curd

1/8 Baking Soda

1 cup onions (chopped finely)

1/2 tsp green chilli ( finely chopped)

1 tsp Coriander leaves ( finely chopped)

1/2tspmustardseeds(rai)

1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)

1/2 tsp asafoetida (hing)

1/2 tsp ginger

1 cup water

Oil – as required to toast

Salt – to taste

Method

Dry roast oats for 3-4 mins do not let the color change, Keep aside to allow it cool  this step is purely optional.

Take a pan heat oil add mustard seeds,,cumin seeds  and curry leaves let it crackle.

Now add onion , green chilli & curry leaves saute till onions turn soft and pink.

Add the oats  and rice flour in a Add salt & water  mix well. Keep aside.for 10 minutes

Add the  onion mix, chopped coriander leaves to the oats batter and mix well.

Add the yogurt stir well to combine.

If we need we can add water to to form a semi loose batter , like  uthapam batter.Grease the kuzhipaniyaram pan with oil

Preheat the  kuzhipaniyaram pan  on medium heat Pour oats paniyaram batter into each cavity leaving some space over the top for it to rise.

Allow it to cook for 3-4 minutes.. Once u find its turning brown just flip the paniyaram over.

Cook well on both sides adding additional oil to make it slightly crisper

Serve as a teatime snack or breakfast or even pack it into a lunch box for kids.

with any spicy chutney of your choice.
