A Well Spent Afternoon At Regenta Central Deccan

Hotel Regenta Central Deccan, being one of the 4-star hotels in Chennai, is located at a prime locality, Royapettah, and is just 10 minutes away from Marina Beach. It hosts two categories of luxury suites and superior rooms with complimentary Wi-Fi and a well-stocked mini-bar in each. Regenta Central Deccan has spaces to host various corporate and social events at its spacious banquet halls and boardrooms.

It has two eating outlets – Olives, a multi-cuisine restaurant and Maami Samayal- a south Indian restaurant, and a bar. It’s a pure vegetarian restaurant that also serves Jain food And a variety of delicious South Indian and North Indian delicacies.

Apart from quality accommodation and good food, the hotel also offers options for rejuvenation with a spa and gym.
We decided to go to Olives, which was set up beautifully and the ambience was pin drop, impressing us. The price for buffet was quite reasonable and the staff also were quite welcoming.

The buffet, kick-started with a daily-changing special range of soups. That day, we tried out the,‘Cream of Spinach and Mushroom Soup’ the sweet-sour taste, with mushrooms split afloat in the soup gives us the perfect combo!

For starters, they had it us served at our table, hot and fresh! It consisted of a wide range of products, beginning with ‘Paneer Tikka’, the soft and masaledaar paneer, served grilled, with grilled onions, capsicums and tomatoes to top them. Its combination with green-mint chutney is heavenly.

Spring Roll’, these fried little chops which consists of fine-veggies, with soy sauce, which is served hot and tasted better with the tomato ketchup and indulges our taste-buds to an adventurous start.

‘Cheese Corn Nuggets’, as the name suggests is a blend of cheese and corn fried into nuggets. This one would be an all-time favourite for the ones who love cheese. The satisfaction when you cut open these nuggets with drooling melted cheese will awe you.

‘Baby Corn Varuval’, is the tangy-fusion of the Westo-Indie spices, baby corn is fried with gram flour-coating and is presented in the form similar to that of a south-Indian varuval.

Jain sabji

Moving on to the main-course, surprisingly in the assorted breads-section, they had us busy picking it’s varieties, which includes kulcha, butter naan, garlic naan, tandoori roti, butter roti and roti/naan and also amazed us with the options they had with side-dishes and sabji’s, which included, BhindiJaipuri, Dal Palak, Aloo Jeeraand Kadai Paneer, they also provided the Jain customers two sabjis, which were, Dudhi Masalaand Kala Methi Mutterrespectively. And to our surprise, they also offered other cuisines, including Chinese items, (Hong Kong Noodles, Mix veg. Hoisin Sauce and Carribean Cauliflower) Italian (Pasta in Cheese sauce) North Indian(Assorted Breads, Sabjis) South Indian (White/Jeera rice, Sambar, Rasam, Kara Kozhambu, Pumpkin Kootu, Cabbage Poriyal, Veg. Biryani and Pachadi).

They also had a live-counter, which was deliciously hand-made by the chef, the dish served on that day was our all-time favourite, Pav Bhaji, served with onions and lemon.

The icing on the cake was the Desserts Section, which seemed like an ocean full of varieties, waiting to be gobbled up. We literally didn’t know where to start from, the options available to attack were, Sweets (Dry Jamun, Semiya Payasam, Barfis),Pastries (Choco-Orange, White Forest), Fruits (Water-Melons, Pineapples, Pumpkins and Bananas). The Desserts section also included the likes of Ice-Creams (Vanilla with Chocolate sauce) and Mojitos (Sweet Lime, Kiwi and Strawberry)
On the whole, this made our day and satisfied our hearts! and would definitely recommend you guys to go, give it a visit with your friends and families. Finally, the service and the hospitality of the working staff was just remarkable. They always served us with a BIG smile and that’s what I loved. Thank-you hotel, for a fulfilling afternoon.
